After years knee pain, I saw Dr Davies. Reviewing my history, exam and xrays, he gave me my options. Despite my excruciating pain, I wasn't sure if I was ready to take the big step to replacement. Dr Davies was willing to buy me more time with a steroid injection. Within six months I was back to arrange my first knee replacement. Everything was explained as to what to do to prepare and expect every step of the way. First surgery done at Waukesha Memorial, from pre-op care, surgery and recovery room as well as floor staff and physical therapy was excellent. The time came for number two, I was a candidate for the 23 hour stay at OAW surgical center. From start to finish , everything was outstanding. Focus on one on one care from the staff for myself and family. I felt ready for discharge to home by morning to recover in the comfort of my own home. Physical therapy progressed quickly and at 3 months post op , I feel better than I did after my first surgery thanks to all the staff that helped along my recovery!

I needed to have total hip replacements done on both hips. I was very fortunate to have them done by Dr Davies. I had them done two years apart, both were executed perfectly.

Dr Davies is a very kind, gentle doctor with great bedside manner. My experience with him and his staff was outstanding. I had a total left hip replacement done 10/16. He used the anterior approach in their 24-hour surgical center. This choice, which was mine, was the best decision I made. I have no further pain, can walk completely normal and be able to do things I had not done for a long time. I would recommend Dr Davies and his staff - very caring people.

I chose Dr. Davies because he seemed sensitive and understanding of my physically active lifestyle. I agreed to anterior hip joint replacement surgery because according to Dr. Davies it has the shortest recovery time and I’ll be actively participating in my life, personal and professional, sooner after surgery. The exact opposite happened. He used the wrong size implant and I was in more pain the very next day from surgery and for the next 1.5 years before I got it redone by someone else. The infuriating thing about this is that I trusted these guys at OWA and kept going back and agreeing to pay for more tests and PT. Davies, his PA, Steve Baugrud, and every other OWA doctor I met with to help me find the cause of this pain, all had each other’s backs. No one would admit the horrific mistake. Upon a recommendation from a lawyer friend of mine, I got a second opinion from a surgeon with UW-Health. He and his PA reviewed the almost two years of intensive tests, xrays as well as my verbal description of pain and with no hesitation, before even seeing me, they knew the implant size was wrong. Dr. Davies and Steve Baugrud clocked out of my case because they did not want to face the reality and take responsibility for the bad surgical choices they made. I was a case number with a dollar amount attached. The squeezed everything they felt they could out of me and my insurance company. OWA's priority is to make money. They are a business with expendable customers; not a caring medical practice with patients. I alerted my insurance company to this egregious situation and even they agreed this is medical malpractice. No action could be taken to recoup expenses because of tight WI laws covering the butts of all medical doctors regardless if they’re competent or not.

Dr. Davies and his PA, Steve Baugrud, provided excellent information to prepare me for my surgery. I had a good understanding of what to expect. I'm not sure that every surgeon prescribes the Continuous Passive Motion Device starting immediately after surgery but I believe that was instrumental in my recovery. I was very apprehensive about the surgery due to reports from others that had it performed. The most common report was how painful the recovery would be and how many individuals were sorry they had it done because they noticed no improvement and in some cases worse with pain and limitations. I can honestly say that my surgery, performed by Dr. Davies, left me with a few days of pain and everything after that was very tolerable. I had a complete rotator cuff tear and I believe Dr. Davies did a great job getting me back to being able to perform at a higher level than before surgery. I am so glad that I had it done.I would recommend him and certainly would return to him if I need any orthopedic surgery in the future.

My experience with dr davies was wonderful,Ihad a right knee replacement, due to only being age 35 I really respect that dr Davies took the time to talk to other doctors with in the practice to make sure the best choice was made for me.I was back working as a childcare provider with in weeks after surgery and in a lot less pain.He gave me my life back!

Dr. Davies was accurate in his evaluation and I felt immediate relief from pain after the surgery. Only needed one pain pill post surgery and I was back on my feet the day following surgery. I feel very strong about Dr. Davies abilities and his professionalism.

Over all the new left knee came out very well. Coming back for the new right knee this Nov. of 2012.

I had knee surgery and found our visits to be quick and friendly. As is the case these days, some of the visits were with his PA who seems to have a less positive attitude than Dr. Davies. My biggest complaint is the office staff, one of whom is about as friendly and helpful as a concrete post. The nursing staff should also at least identify themselves by NAME, not "Nurse" and try to be a little more understanding about the pain a patient is having. There is also a difference of opinion of treatment between the doctor, the PA and the "Nurse". A doctor is only as good as his support staff, because I had to deal with them far more than the doctor himself. Didn't like their self-owned surgery center. Was left alone in a room for over an hour without anyone checking on me before my surgery. Surgery was an hour late and no one came in to inform of this. Prefer Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
