Dr. William Francis Grella, MD

The "ghost" Doctor. Sent in NPs to check on my family member. Never actually made a visit or responded to my calls. Showed no duty of care or effort in improving patient's condition.

I cannot believe someone else had a similar experience as I did. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR LOVED ONE TO DIE. He is never there, does phone calls as consults which is someone acceptable, never is in contact with the family...I cannot believe this man calls himself a doctor. My dog could care for someone better. Do not trust Dr. Grella. Your loved one will DIE.

This man was unfortunately in charge of my dad at kindred hospital. Was never around we could never get in touch with him. He would never get back to us after leaving him several messages. My father had an infection for three days with high fever and all he would give is Tylenol. My father died of a septics infection that he misdiagnosed didn’t care that we begged him to give him antibiotics he was never to be found. My regret is not finding another physician maybe my father would still be alive. By the way this is the third post I have placed. It seems That the “good” dr. Greta doesn’t like the truth and has the posts deleted.

Possibly the worst Dr. if he wants to call himself that. Was never available misdiagnosed my father and let him die of sepsis infection when we called his service for three days demanding that he be put on antibiotics and the “good doctor did not return our calls or care about our concerns. Stay away from this uncaring privileged monster. You caused my fathers death....

HE NEVER SAW MY MOM EVEN IF HE IS THE DOC. WORKS WITH NP AND NP SEES PATIENT. RECEIVED STATEMENT FROM INSURANCE THAT HE SAW MOM.

My mom is being cared for @ Kindred in Dover. Although she has only been there a week and it looks like she'll be there for awhile I thought I would write now and maybe when she moves on, I will try to write again. Dr. Grella met with my mom and I when she was admitted to Kindred. I have asked my mom's nurses for Dr. Grella to call with updates and he always does. I unfortunately got sick myself so I have not been in to visit with my mom so I can't tell for sure how she feels about the doctors caring for her. Dr. Grella answers all my questions and never rushes me off the phone. He diagnosed one of my mom's issues (too much pain meds) from the prior hospital within minutes of meeting us, one that I was concerned about but didn't even have to mention it, Dr. Grella picked up on it and has been trying to find a happy medium for my mother. To me that shows he is compassionate and aware of her needs. I hope when my mom is ready to leave Kindred I will feel as positive as now. Time will tell.

He was assigned to us at the hospital. I met him once in the hospital by accident and he called me once in the months of treating my relative. But other than that I felt I was always chasing answers to my questions. No personal interaction at all.

Very accessible...compassionate,professional and extremely knowledgeable...Considering the medically complex conditions and age of these patients...sometimes the plan of care must be revised due to the patients weakening conditions... Dr, Grella would be the only physician I would use to treat any of my family members that are medically complex/ventilator...this is spoken from an RN who Dr. Grella cared for my grandmother...with appropriate medical expertise and true compassionate bedside manner...remember...the Dr. is only one of the main caregiviers of a patient...there are many more disciplines(healthcare providers)...included in a patient care...besides the physician sincerely...a patient family member and a registered Nurse....thank you

He delivered a line of crap when my Mom was admitted. Told us Mom would receive agressive therapy to wean her off the respirator, that she would receive physical therapy every day, swallowing therapy as well. Instead, under his direction, my Mom was sedated so intensely she has absolutely no memory of being at Kindred. She has no clue who Dr. Grella is. My sister and I requested meetings with him to discuss Mom's condition, most of which neither he nor his staff showed up for. He never returned any phone calls to myself or my sister. He is nothing about healthcare and all about money.

Dr Grella is a hospitalist and, therefore, doesn't have an office so it's impossible to rate all of the above areas. He was responsible for my mother's care while she was at Kindred in Wayne and did a horrible job. Communication with the family was non-existant and her care was eventually taken out of his hands. She would have died if another physician hadn't stepped in.

My aunt was in the hospital and was very concerned that her own Doctor would not be taking care of her, but once she meet Dr. Grella, all her fears were arrested. He explained everything to her that was scheduled to happen, he answered ALL her quesstions with patience and kindness.
