By having on line registration check-in was extremely quick for being a new patient. Dr. Isbel was very comforting in his demeanor and was also very caring in explaining the treatment plan. Would highly recommend.

Best Dr ever. He did my knee a few years ago so he had to do my shoulder. Even though I live in Pisgah Forest! Excellent care and like the last surgery he and his team were helpful and explained everything that was being done. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else but Dr Isbell to do your work.

I consulted with Dr. Isbell 2 times. Both times, he was nice, but the consultation ended very very fast. The way he spoke was so convoluted that if I wanted to ask questions I'd have to cut him mid-sentence because there was no break time for me to absorb what he was telling me, and then develop a question, without missing something else that he started saying afterward. That being said, he was friendly and showed me my MRI image results properly, so I understood my issue and where it was located. I think he's a good Dr, but probably overbooked. So, even though prices are very high to see a specialist, he can't give patients more than 10 min of his time per consultation... That part was extremely disappointing. Regarding the clinic (Raleigh Ortho), the wait time was long, and I noticed several people who were scheduled for the same exact time slot as me (but arrived after) being called before. My theory is they scheduled around 4 people for the same time slot. That's probably why his consultations are so short. I'd consult with him again just because he seems very experienced and knowledgeable, and at the end of the day, that's more important. Just be aware that if you have questions, you'll have to ask them to wait, and make sure you can talk before they leave the room superfast.

While working as a nurse at a Family Practice and Sports Medicine office I had many opportunities to refer our patients to Orthopedics. By far my patients all had great success, and glowing reports about Dr. Isbell and his bedside manner. When I had to have surgery on my shoulders I didn't hesitate to go to Dr. Isbell. My patients were correct. He is a fine surgeon, and a empathetic person. I would like to also add that his personal staff is great. The surgical center at Raleigh Ortho is well run and everyone there was professional and kind.

Dr Isbell did my shoulder surgery…was an awesome experience….everyone at Raleigh Orthopaedic were professional and compassionate….I barely had any pain at all..and two weeks post I have basically all my range of motion and not in any pain meds….he was highly recommended by two Physicians I know and I would recommend him with any reservation

Unfortunately I have experienced many appointments, procedures, test, etc with the medical community between my parents, in-laws and spouse. The professionalism and efficiency of Dr. Isbell and staff is what all practices should strive for. In my opinion they have set the standard for patient service.

Met the doctor for the first time and it was like we were old friends. Very easy to talk to, answered all my questions, was not rushed, very comfortable and satisfying encounter.

Dr. Isbell is a breath of fresh air when it comes to surgeons. He talks to the patient not over their head. He doesn't rush your appointment and encourages dialogue. He repaired my shoulder replacement when a piece didn't cooperate with the first surgeon, and he'll be replacing my other shoulder in a few months. Don't waffle when it comes to your surgical needs---come to Dr. Isbell first. You'll be glad you did!

Very personable with a great bedside manner. Made me feel at ease about my shoulder rotator cuff surgery, which was very successful. My recovery was great and much easier than I expected. Would highly recommend Dr. Isbell.
