NOT even 1 star I would like to express my deep disappointment with Dr. Gary Yougang Chen MD surgeon's office located at 1513 S. Grand Ave After waiting for a month and a half to secure an appointment for my relative, MuAllifah Griffie, who does not drive, I embarked on a two-hour drive to downtown LA, only to discover upon arrival that the clinic was closed. I was truly taken aback by the astonishing lack of responsibility displayed by the administrators who failed to notify patients about the cancellation of their appointments. What made it even more surprising was the fact that my friend had received confirmation for the appointment just the day before. As a result, three of us were left stranded, frustrated, and desperately knocking on the clinic's door. The building's security guard revealed that this was not the first instance of such irresponsible behavior from this particular clinic. Fortunately, my relative did not see this surgeon, and I took the initiative to file a complaint with Health Care LA on her behalf. They promptly referred my friend to another surgeon, and I have managed to secure an appointment for July 5th.

I called the office after several attempts I finally spoke to someone. They put me back on hold and proceeded to hang up. I called again female answer who was rude stated What do you want after I informed her previous call was ended. I proceeded to inform this woman who refused to identified herself the reason I was calling. She told me that Dr. Chen does not accept straight Medical, I told her it was a referral she said "so, I not responsible for who referred you" she hung up the phone when I was mid sentence. I work for a big hospital in NY and customer service is very important to the Hospital no matter what insurance a patient may have. Yoi treat people with courtesy and respect. Awful experience

Great surgeon , I wish I could give Dr Chen 10 stars I highly recommend this surgeon !

Dr. Chen is an awesome doctor I was nervous at first but he called me down explain the procedure and he did an awesome job. His staff needs to work on front office courtesy they're really nice people they're just overwhelmed with a lot of work they need a supervisor to be present. I would recommend my handsome doctor Chen to anyone.

The whole staff is incompetent nobody seems to know what they are doing. Jesus, christina, grizelda and most important the asian supervisor who hung up on me after bn on hold for 24 min. Stay away from this office

Nothing is done right, this place is a crime. Shame on you all.

I had surgery with Dr. Chen three days ago. Today I can move my fingers for the first and my pain went away! He has magic hands cause he did it with minimal scarring... you can't even tell. Dr. Chen and each and every team member really cared for me with compassion and respect. Thank you!!!

I feel bad for the doctor, who is amazing. His staff is so incompetent that it brings the whole place down. I do not know how they are still business. They never answer the phone and their mail boxes are constantly full. If I were the owner I would fire everyone and start over from the ground up!!!!!

Office staff does NOT answer their phones, Front desk does NOT have a voicemail, any voicemails for smaller departments have FULL inboxes and you CANNOT leave a message. Office staff did NOT fill out any forms they were given by the doctor. Direct quote "You mean I gotta write his name on this form and everything?" They left ME to fill in the blanks with the BROKEN HAND I was there for in the first place! You will never be able to get a hold anyone if you can even manage to schedule an appointment. If you are referred to this office, save yourself a headache, and immediately request a different doctor. The doctors may be competent, but I wouldn't know because their office staff is incapable of using a telephone or voicemail.

He is Amazing! I had micro surgery on my shoulder and hand and he is superior in everything he does! The surgery went well with a nerve block and stem cell replacement! As a therapist myself I have never seen such a fast and continuous recovery. I had full range without pain in a week! I went back to work after a month and was told I would not work again! I highly recommend Dr. Chen. I drove 6 hours just to see him and I would do it again!! Thank you Dr. Chen for giving me my life back!ð???

The staff is absolutely RUDE! If your appointment is at 10:00am be prepared to be called in after 12:00 just to be told wait for another 2-3 hours. staff just seats around talking among each other. No wonder patients are always complaining and at time screaming at the staff for their ignorance to the client.

They pack the place so full of patients there is no where to sit. Not to mention there is only 10 places to sit. It takes an hour and a half just to be seen for five minutes. The floors are filthy. The staff is rude. Dr chen tell you where ever you did therapy before they did it wrong. When I know darn well the office I did my hand therapy was way better than this hole in the wall in the middle of Ana-crime.

Very hard to get hold of. Does not call back and no place to leave a message. Staff and office are very unprofessional. Dr seems to be OK but so hard to get hold.

Don't waist your time. Made an appointment with them and they sent me an email 2 hours before hand cancelling with no explanation. Tried to call them and number went straight to voice mail. An absolute waste of time. Considering I had to wait 2 days for the time slot.

Worst medical office I have ever been to!
