I've been in therapy for a number of years and trying to find a therapist who can explain their approach is really important in finding the right fit. I booked an initial call to understand her approach and she was very stoic and cold in her response. She said she uses CBT and bases interventions from assessment questionnaire...EVERY therapist does that, tell me something new that I can't read off your bio. An intro call is meant to go into what makes you different and sets your apart from other therapists, give examples of what a back & forth dialogue would be like. She kept saying I can't answer that and it was frustrating. By the way I'm a health care provider and I also do intro calls with clients so yes I know you can't reveal everything until a proper history is done but even I know not to gatekeep and to give more tangible examples of what a typical session would look like and show my personality. She didn't give any of that. Don't recommend.
