Dr. Charolette Barnes-LeBlanc is a dedicated optometrist at Dr. Barnes Optometry, which offers comprehensive eye care services and in-demand lenses and frames to Perris and the surrounding communitiesDr. Charolette Barnes completed a doctorate degree in Optometry in 1986. She was the first in her immediate family to obtain a college degree in addition to a Doctorate. She grew up in a predominantly lower socioeconomic area in the City of Compton, California. Even though she attended private elementary school, she had the odds stacked against her and managed to complete her studies in 8 years after high school.Dr. Barnes found it enjoyable to obtain a Fellowship from the College of Vision Development for Vision Therapy. She has helped several patients utilize their eyes to help alleviate eye turns, focusing problems, dyslexia, muscle strains, and other visual imparities. She has trained patients to practice visual exercises to help them return to a sense of normalcy.Dr. Barnes has
had the opportunity to do several school screenings for underprivileged children along with seniors and special needs individuals. She has spent several years in her profession doing special events to reach out to those less fortunate for qualified eye care. She has been an inspiration to several students from many primary and secondary educational schools. She is the Program Director for Success 4 U Teen Leadership Academy, Perris, CA. She has mentored many young people to strive for a college degree and to enter the field of Optometry. She has allowed her office to be a training site for a countless number of young women entering the workforce with the Regional Occupational Program (ROP), American Career College, and UEI to name a few.For the last 5 years, she has partnered with Angels for Sight by volunteering for their annual Veterans Stand Down Health Fair by providing eye exams for underprivileged and homeless veterans. The program has served over 500 individuals per year.Dr. Barnes has spent several years assisting her daughters in the Girl Scout program through the San Gorgonio Council. She has assisted her daughters in qualifying for the 1000 and Above club for the 13 years they have been involved. She has been exemplary in assisting the young girls in completing the Girl Scout program at each level, up to and including the Girl Scout highest award, The Gold Award. She has been the Leader and Co-Leader for several Troops while encouraging the girls to participating in several committee events throughout the years up to and including placing flags on grave sites at various cemeteries in Riverside County, decorating a group of Floats for the Rose Float Parade in Pasadena, California and staffing a children tattoo booth and children activity tent at the Day Out With Thomas event at the Orange Empire Railway Museum.Dr. Barnes is honored to serve her community and her patients.
