Dr. Allison Liefeld Fillar, MD

I went in to see her after my primary found a tear in my meniscus. I was put in a room and one of her assists came in without me being notified that they were coming in. I asked where the doctor was and asked for her, because I did a lot of research to find one with good ratings. She came in and was rather flippant. She did not look at the MRI with me, but when I asked if she saw it she told me she had. The experience has made me not want to use MedStar as whole. I would look elsewhere.

She was on call when I called due to severe nausea several days after surgery. Although there was not much she could do as I was already doing about all that could be done, she spent over 5 minutes with me trying to finds ways for me to relieve the nausea. In those few minutes it was easy to tell that she understood patient care and what it means to be a doctor. Thank you.

Dr. Fillar is not only an excellent surgeon, but also an approachable professional. She listens and devotes plenty of time to making sure you feel informed and ensuring that your concerns are heard. She is warm and clearly cares very personally for her patients. A rarity in terms of talent, trustworthiness, and demeanor!

Dr. Fillar was extremely professional and thorough. Following x-rays and an examination, she took time to explain my condition, propose a plan with options, and answer the questions that I had. From the moment I entered the office until I left everybody was prompt, courteous, and helpful.
