Dr. Simpson is young and confident, and did an outstanding job at identifying and properly treating my back problem. I could barely walk before the surgery, and now, two weeks later am doing near 5,000 steps a day, mostly without any cane. His office has been wonderfully prompt with their appointments, and very friendly and helpful. Most importantly was that Dr. Simpson didn’t hesitate to correct a previous opinion of treatment for my back that was way more than needed. Upon more research, he was shown to be correct. For that I am forever great full.

He is simply the best!

Dr. Simpson performed surgury on my back in the fall of 2015. For the first time in over 15 years I have no back pain. Dr. Simpson is amazing. He is educated, informative, empathetic and highly skilled. If you need a back Doctor you need Dr. Simpson. In my opinion, if you look close enough, you can see Dr Simpson walking on water.

There is nothing I dislike about this doctor. He is so careful in his decision about his patients diagnosis and treatment. More physicians should be as decisive as Dr. Simpson. Not only have I seen and been treated by him. I have sent family members to him. He and his staff are incredible. They work together as a team to care for their patients. I am so thankful for the life I have been given back because of caring people like the Dr. Simpson and his staff at The Back Institute. Thank you for caring so much about your line of work you all chose to go into.

Dr. Simpson was not only thorough, understanding and easy to talk with, he performed a complex surgery precisely and perfectly. Dr. Simpson was very professional and excellent at diagnosing my pain problem. He decided the best plan to resolve my back and leg issues. He made me feel comfortable. I never questioned his plan to help me. And when I woke up after surgery it was exactly as he told me. He said my leg and back pain would be relieved. And it was. ZERO symptoms as I had in pre-op. Post-op ZERO pain, ZERO numbness ZERO tingling. His plan of action was SPOT ON. I never met this man before my first office visit with him. He made me feel totally confident in his ability to help and heal me from my year and a half battle with low back and left leg pain. Dr. Simpson is a true surgeon working to help heal people with back and spine issues. Thank you so much for helping me live pain free. And pain free without harmful medications. You are truly AWESOME.

My decision to have back surgery was complicated by my being on a blood thinner as a result of A-fib. Dr. Simpson suggested trying injections but since they did not work, surgery was the only choice remaining. When my pain got bad enough I agreed to surgery and it was the best decision I've made in a long time. I am so pleased that I was referred to Dr. Simpson. I feel 10 years younger due to his excellent surgery. No more pain!!

Dr. Simpson takes as much time as you need to fully understand your medical issues, and the surgical steps needed to correct them. I had many references on his surgical skills prior to my first visit, I left impressed with his quiet confident manner and genuine interest in my well being. He also has a great sense of humor! I first went to see Dr Simpson about lumbar surgery after it had been rescheduled several times by another surgeon. I thank God I did because he watched me walk, tested my reflexes and then told me that I had a problem with my neck that we needed to look into before we did surgery on my lower back. Turns out I had a serious problem in my neck and had I had the lower back surgery first there was a ten percent chance I could have woke up paralyzed. The previous surgeon I talked never bothered to check my reflexes or anything. He would have just done my back surgery. We did my cervical (Neck) surgery last year and just did my lumbar surgery a few weeks ago. My experience with Dr. Simpson and staff has been wonderful. He is an excellent surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner and is a genuinely caring person. His staff is awesome. I would highly recommend him if you need any kind of back surgery.

It's been 6 months since my surgery and all is well. There is noted improvement in the feeling in my fingers and I am back to playing my saxophone. I definitely am pleased to hav e my life back and the incision in my neck is almost completely invisible. Thank you so much Dr. Simpson!

I am 2 weeks out of a 2 level decompression and discectomy surgery and I feel like a new man. I was not too nervous going into surgery because I was in so much pain but Dr. Simpson gave me such reassurance that the surgery would change everything. He was right! I am on the road to recovery and I am so thankful I found Dr. Simpson because he did such a great job of explaining my condition and walking me through my surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Simpson and his staff if you have to get surgery...it is the worth the temporary surgery pain to get long term pain relief. Dr. Simpson answers all your questions and never makes you feel like you are asking a dumb question. I appreciate his empathy and professionalism.

Dr. Simpson and his staff were very helpful and friendly. I had questions on some testing I was having done, and Dr. Simpson sat with me to explain everything in detail.

Dr. Simpson performed a T-LIFT procedure on my 4 and 5th lumbar back on Jan 6 of 2016. I was only in the hospital for 1 day. I was up and walking within a few hours after the operation. The only real pain I had was from the incision. The first week was pretty rough but after that the pain subsided and didn't even need pain medication. I have zero pain today and it's as though I never even had a back problem. Before the operation my siatic nerve was so pinched due to a herniated disk that the pain went all the way down my right leg even to the ankle. My pain on a daily basis was off the charts. I hesitated to get the surgery for fear I would have pain the rest of my life but Dr Simpson is an excellent doctor and he took real good care of me and now I am totally pain free.

My experience with Dr. Simpson from initial consult to follow-up appointments after surgery was excellent. He is very adept at explaining problems and procedures in terms that are easy to understand for those of use who are not medical professionals. He was not pushy with surgery recommendations, and he encouraged me to get as much information as I could before making a decision. His staff is wonderful and very pleasant to work with. They were always available for questions, and their answers were very helpful. On top of the office experience being superb, my surgery was successful. This was my second lumbar spine surgery overall, and my first with Dr. Simpson. Dr. Simpson did an amazing job, and I cannot thank him enough. I would absolutely recommend him to those experiencing similar issues.

I have greatly enjoyed the relationship I have with Dr. Simpson. He is very concern and cares a lot for his patients. He is a great listener and answers all of your questions. He takes his time and I never felt that he had to rush off to another patient before all my questions were answered completely.

My surgical experience was exceptional. One of the things that impressed me the most is that Dr. Simpson was prepared for my first visit. He had reviewed my information and tests before coming into the examination room, so the information he presented was thorough and well-prepared. The C5-C6 surgery went very well. I am fortunate to have full use of my arm and hand that were in neurological distress. He and his staff also worked with me to begin a new medication to address osteoporosis issues that were impeding the speed of my recovery. What an exceptional Doctor! I had been in pain for several years. My internist recommended Dr. Simpson. I got an appointment quickly. He listened to me as well as carefully did tests to come up with the best treatment plan for me. He really won me over by stating "if you were my dad, I would recommend this." He is truly a skilled surgeon. He saw me at least once a day during my hospital stay. He even called me, himself, to check on me when I had been home for several days. I am totally without back pain now. I am now the cheerleader for Dr. Simpson. He and his staff are wonderful. He really cares about his patients. His youth and education are a plus!
