Dr. Antonia Chen listened to me when we met regarding the possibility of my having a knee replacement. I had already had both hips replaced by other ortho surgeons, to whom I chose not to return. Dr. Chen came highly recommended and meeting with her was refreshing due to her interest in listening to my history and explaining to me what she could offer. Hearing that Dr. Chen does knee replacements with robotic assistance, and why, made me grateful that I had held off having my knee done. Also, watching Dr. Chen's videos on YouTube which promote significant exercise both before and after knee replacement confirmed that I would have a lot of control over how my body recovered. Doing specific exercises every day will continue to promote my knee fully straightening and bending as much as possible (over 120 degrees of flexion is the goal). I am now 12 weeks post-surgery and am so glad I had my knee replacement done with Dr. Chen and her team of Mass General Brigham.

My entire experience with Dr. Chen has been nothing short of miraculous. From initial consultation she was attentive and spent ample time understanding my particular knee issues (and history) and fully answered the myriad of questions and concerns I had. She gave me great confidence I was, and would be, in the best of care. The surgery was impeccable and my recovery to full mobility much quicker than I anticipated. I strongly endorse robotic knee surgery with Dr. Chen and her team at MGB Hospital.

Dr Chen and team replaced my left hip. The transformation in mobility and strength is amazing. Perfect job and I was walking day 1, and fully functional and totally pain free in 2 weeks. Wow- hats off to the full team.

After years of suffering from bone on bone in both knees, Dr. Chen was the only ortho surgeon that I saw who was willing to do total knee replacements on both knees. My surgery was done in the evening and I was walking the very next morning, climbed up and down 6 stairs and got in and out of a "mock" car in the PT room. I was home in about 14 hours after my surgery. After lots of hard work in PT and exercising daily, today I am within 3 months of surgery and am pain-free. It has been a remarkable experience all around and while I have worked very hard for this day, I credit much of the success to my skillful and compassionate surgeon!

Dr Chen and her staff are awesome I had my right knee replaced on Oct 27, 2023 Went home from hospital the same day Was pain free immediately Resumed normal activities shortly thereafter Work, walking, riding stationary bike with no issues Only wish I had it done sooner Dr Chen is a gifted surgeon and i would highly recommend her to anyone needing a hip or knee replacement The staff @ Faulkner hospital was excellent as well

Antonia replaced my April 2023 and Left hip replaced in October 2023. Surgery went great, I have no more pain walking, exercising, ect....no pain......Working with Dr Chen and Mei felt like working with people I've known for yrs....she's competent and personal......

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my total hip replacement by Dr. Chen… From beginning to end it has been a perfect experience… I was out and about within two weeks and after three months feeling fantastic … she has a wonderful staff working with her and they answer any questions and concerns within the day. She is nothing short of outstanding and has a very fine staff. Very easy to get in touch with. She certainly made me feel as if I was a friend and family member and answered any question I had immediately and with confidence putting me at ease. In addition to being so kind I believe that both of my knees are in far better shape though I am still in the recovery mod. and I am so pleased that I found her. My therapist told me in regarding both knees that I was way ahead of the curve. She seriously wants the best outcome for each patient in every way. I believe there is a lot that goes on that we don't realize. She really wants to avoid infection and unnecessary complications.

I selected Dr. Chen as my orthopedic surgeon for a total hip replacement performed on 6/8/2023. I was back playing pickleball on August 1st!! My recovery was so easy compared to a lot of people I spoke with that went through the same procedure. Her academic and medical background is tip-top! Dr. Chen took the time to explain the procedure in simple terms that I could easily understand. If you are looking for an outstanding surgeon, I would definitely make an appointment to see Dr. Chen! She is so kind and easy to talk to. I can’t say enough positive things about her.

I have OA in both hips, did lots of research and had 4 consultations!!!! I chose Dr Chen because of her educations, her online videos were clear. During my consultation, Dr Chen was confident, knowledgeable, natural, patient, made me feel comfortable and answered all my question/calls prior to surgery. I saw Dr. Antonia Chen and her team for all four of my joint replacements, two hips and two knees, due to severe arthritis. All four were very successful. Her techniques and protocols only improved with each surgery. I have recommended her to several friends who are exploring joint replacement. I am back riding my bike and working out at the YMCA which was my goal!

I had knee surgery before with another doctor. Dr Chen was far superior. Other patients at rehab had to use crutches and difficulty walking. The PT therapist even asked what doctor had done the surgery because the wound healing was amazing.

great personality. took time to see me when i had additional problems after knee surgery. i value her expertise so much so i scheduled the the next knee surgery. her whole office is unbelievably and the response to questions quickly .

I first met Dr Chen a year ago, on marathon Monday. Since that meeting I have had two hip replacements. Today, on that first year anniversary I was out body surfing and swimming in the waves with my kids and walking on the beach pain free. I have my life back thanks to Dr Chen and Mei

This was my second knee replacement done by Dr. Chen and her team. She and they are amazing. I had full confidence in them before having my second knee done and they did just as well the second time.
