I was a patient of Dr. Lighthall's during an inpatient hospital stay at Hershey Medical Center for paralysis on both sides of my face. Because of paralysis, could not close my eyes. Dr. Lighthall inserted Platinum eyelid weights so I could close my eyes and help preserve my sight. She worked with a team of Drs. to try and discover the reason for the paralysis. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about her area of medicine and surgery, she is very empathetic toward her patients and is very caring in her dealing with a patient. Her team of physicians who work with her are the very same way and I have to attribute this to her leadership within the team. A situation occurred during my stay that was extremely stressful for me and caused a lot of inconvenience and stress for my family. It had nothing to do with Dr. Lighthalls team, it was a scheduling snafu in another department. Two of the Drs. in the team spent about an hour just talking with me and going over what the options were in a very empathetic manner. Talked me down from a situation that would have escalated to something nasty if they had not take the time with me. I can only say that Dr. Lighthall is awesome and has imparted that awesomeness to her team. I know that I am in the very best hands going forward with follow up treatment . Highly recommend her and her team. Wish there was another way to express just how lucky I am to be a patient.

I had a surgery performed by another ENT years ago and it was discovered that it was not done correctly. Dr. Lighthall performed a very complicated procedure to fix my nose and other issues that arose. In the meantime, I had several adverse reactions to medications (none of which she prescribed). She was sensitive to my mistrust of medications and using steroid shots to reduce the swelling, instead allowing for a more conservative approach to healing, which takes longer. She is highly skilled and explains things in terms that are understandable to all. My family was impressed with her explanation of the procedure right after surgery while I was in the recovery room.
