Dr. William Aaron Heller, MD

I had pain in my wrist and hand . I go to Dr Heller and he gave me a Corazon shot in my wrist. I came back weeks later because my hand was still in pain . Saw him for all of 20 seconds and he says it’s fine maybe you need therapy . Then bill me for that visit $400 dollars. My pain got worst so I go to another hand specialist and this another doctor said I need surgery my Wrist was screwed up. When I called Dr heller office their attitude and response was more like “ even if he was wrong , you still have to pay me . Would not recommend at all

I separated my AC joint — badly — in a biking accident. I was 26, it was the first major medical issue I’d ever had in my life, and I was terrified. When I first visited Midland Orthopedic I initially saw one of Dr Heller’s colleagues, who then directed me to Dr Heller because he’s the expert on the most advanced reconstructive shoulder procedures. Dr Heller explained to me what the surgery was, what would probably happen if I got it, and what would probably happen if I didn’t. He patiently answered not only the specifics of my anxious questions, but the spirit of what I was trying to say: Is everything going to be ok, Doc? Am I going to be able to bike and swim and climb again? Dr Heller did not tell me everything was going to be alright — instead, he did something better. He helped me be ok with the fact that things were not ok. He didn’t promise to erase all my problems — surgery is trauma in itself and there was potential for plenty of complications. But he has 30 years of school and decades of practice under his belt, and he confidently told me the facts — that the potential payoff overwhelmingly outweighed the risks, that this procedure was my best bet for making a full return to sports, and that he wanted to help me enjoy the many years of physical activity I had ahead of me. I’m write this review half a year later. My surgery came and went with zero complications. Very quickly, I could tell that having all my bones back in the right place was a massive improvement over where they’d been before. After three months, and some standard physical therapy, I was swimming and biking with my family on our beach vacation. Today I’ve got all my range of motion back, am swimming laps at the pool twice a week, and have already begun returning to weight lifting. Dr Heller (who it turns out also injured his own shoulder in a biking accident years ago), tells me that I’ll continue to see improvement for some time. During my last checkup, I looked him straight in the eye and said, “I am really happy.” I highly recommend Dr William Heller for arthroscopic shoulder reconstructions.

I am writing this review in reference to Dr. Heller. I saw him awhile ago about a shoulder injury. He was very short with his words, not very pleasant, did not seem to care. He caused me more pain with his insensitive examination of my arm and shoulder and the painful without warning injection of a cortisone shot. I was not very comfortable about his service and would not recommend anyone to him. He really appears to be very unconcern and have a attitude as if the say "Hurry up and get out of my face".

I highly recommend Dr Heller. I saw him for a wrist problem recently. He was attentive and genuinely cared about my problem. He was able to get me on his surgical schedule, and still provide me home remedies to help with the pain in the mean time. Great doctor all around

Dr. Heller was a quick, and professional doctor. He was knowledgeable and nice with my whole experience.

What in the world is wrong with this person. I thought maybe my 1st visit was a fluke & my imagination but....... On my last visit yesterday, he was short with his answers, & very unconcerned about treating me as a whole person. It was like because I didn't need a surgery, I wasn't worth his time. I told him about a mass under the skin on my arm that another Dr. said he would treat after my shoulder concerns were addressed (something he saw on the x-ray) which is why I scheduled the apptmt with Dr. Heller. Upon telling him this he raised his voice saying "What Dr. was this"? He looked at the x-ray results & again raised his voice saying "What mass, I don't see any mass", DUH, had he taken the time to examine my arm by putting on a glove and possibly touching my arm he would have felt it. Not wanting to look at me he talked to me using clipped remarks while looking down at the paperwork and with his back to me while writing on some paperwork. Although he didn't document it, he said I had Tendinitis, gave me a very painful cortisone shot & sent me away. When I got home I looked at my paperwork and why at the bottom did he write "New Dr.". Does that mean he doesn't want to see me anymore? Well he doesn't have to worry about that because he won't. UNBELIVABLE!!

Dr. Heller explained the results of my MRI clearly and in 'plain English'. He fully explained the benefits and the possible risks of the surgery. I felt comfortable with his explanation and scheduled surgery. Dr. Heller and his associate, Dr. Strugala did a great job with the surgery and follow-up visits. Dr. Heller also has compassion gained from first-hand knowledge since he too has had shoulder issues also. I would recommend him since I understand his 'style' and feel comfortable with his treatment regimen. The only negative is the policy of MOA to charge $25 per form to prove my disability to my short term disability provider.

The most horrible experience ever. Dirty waiting room, waited almost 90 minutes, waited in the room for his highness, THEN he was rough mean and maybe spent 5 minutes. Told me I had more movement took my arm and lifted it so fast and pushed it so hard back I hit my head falling backward in my chair and hit the wall, with that he stood up and said you can go to work as he was walking out the door. In conclusion this was a workers comp and he works for the company. I felt that he is not a doctor but a machine that answers to his credit card not the patient

Dr. Heller and staff did a great job on my shoulder ! Love him!

My wife was sent to Dr. Heller due to an injury she sustained at work. Her appointment was less than 7 mins. I do not even think the doctor looked at her for more than a minute and a half. He touched her arm twice, wiggled her wrist and completely ignored other areas of discomfort. He then recommended Physical Therapy, which put her back 10 paces due to the neglect of treating the injury and pushing into muscle strengthening. He did not seem to want to discuss the incident or the discomfort she was feeling. It felt more like an ER. Get you in, get you out- a.s.a.p. I would NEVER recommend Dr Heller to my worst enemy. And no one can ever convince me he is not on Workman's Comp payroll. I gave 1 star on follow up. We did NOT follow up with Dr Heller as we witnessed a doctor dedicated to a paycheck rather than his patients.

Dr. Heller is patient and will answer questions. He is thorough and gives you straight up information about the procedure and your rehabilitation. I had basal joint arthroplasty and it was not hard at all. I did the rehab and followed his instructions and was pain-free and back to normal is a few months.
